Second Annual Art Day

Art day at ISLA! This Saturday, students were able to express their creativity by putting their own touch on the artistic styles of some famous Latin American artists. They learned about artists such as Elsa Gramcko, Omar Rayo, and Noe Canjura, and then made artwork based on each artist’s unique styles and techniques. For example, the First and Second grade class learned about Omar Rayo’s style of using abstract geometry to create both sculptures and paintings. Then, each student cut abstract shapes from paper and glued them to a canvas to create their own unique piece of art that was illustrative of Omar Rayo’s work.
