spanish exploration program for all
Over the years we have received many requests to open an enrichment program for students who are interested in learning Spanish as a foreign language. We are excited to share that will be offering a new Saturday program for Spanish language learners in the fall!
SEPA (Spanish Exploration Program for All) will be a program that provides an opportunity for students in grades K-2nd to build a foundation in the Spanish language and an understanding of cultural diversity, with a curriculum that explores various Latin American countries. What differentiates our program from other language programs is our teaching philosophy and approach. Children will learn Spanish through culture in a fun way, exploring content areas through Spanish immersion activities that can be applied to the student's day-to-day life. SEPA will cover topics such as visual arts, culinary arts, dance, music, nature, storytelling, and STEM.
Families interested in SEPA do not need to already know Spanish. We are driven by the belief that bilingualism and biculturalism are gifts our children can benefit from and that understanding other languages and cultures allows our students to think in global terms that connect them to others in their own community and around the world.
This program is held every Saturday (excluding holidays) at St. Thomas More Middle School from 9am-12pm.
